Since Donald Trump threatens to set high customs duties for many countries, he boasts that his import taxes will be good for the US economy, but most economists disagree, writes The Guardian.
"Almost all economists believe that the impact of customs duties will be very bad for America and the world," said Joseph Stiglitz, a professor of Economics and Economics. "They will almost no doubt be inflation."
On the day of inauguration, Trump threatened to set a 25% total customs duties on all imported goods from Canada and Mexico from February 1.
Trump also threatened China with 10% customs duties if he did not stop the deliveries of Fentinn, while maintaining a long-term threat of customs duties for Chinese products.
