Crime reporting
"On January 25, 2025, in the video released by the government, during the meeting with a group of representatives of the Swiss Armenian community, the titular Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Vovai Pashinyan, without saying a word about the guilt and denial policy of the Ottoman Empire, stated:
"We need to understand what happened and why it happened. And how did we perceive it, through whom did we perceive it? How is it that there was no Armenian Genocide agenda in 1939, and how is it that an Armenian Genocide agenda appeared in 1950? How did it happen? We must understand or we must not understand.
Article 136 of the RA Criminal Code defines:
1. Publicly denying, justifying, promoting or belittling genocide or crimes against humanity, if this is done on the basis of race, skin color, national or ethnic origin or religion, hatred, discrimination or violence against a person or group of persons in order to induce
shall be punished by a fine in the amount of twenty to four times, or public works for a period of one hundred fifty to two hundred and fifty hours, or restriction of freedom for a maximum period of three years, or short-term imprisonment for a period of one to two months, or imprisonment for a maximum period of four years.
2. The act provided for in part 1 of this article, which was performed:
1) publicly displayed works, mass media or using information or communication technologies or
2) using official or official powers or the influence caused by them:
shall be punished by imprisonment for a term of two to five years.
This act is punishable as a criminal offense in Switzerland, moreover, mainly Turks have been punished there, for obvious reasons.
Based on the above, I demand to initiate a public criminal prosecution against Nikol Vovai Pashinyan and bring the latter to criminal responsibility."
