Azerbaijan's official application to join BRICS can be considered at the association's summit to be held in Kazan in October 2024, said the first deputy chairman of the international affairs committee of the Federation Council, Vladimir Jabbarov, TASS reports."At the BRICS summit to be held in Kazan this October, Azerbaijan's application can be considered and a decision can be made regarding its membership," the senator has said.According to Jabbarov, Azerbaijan has established effective cooperation with nearly all BRICS member countries and, in addition, displays an independent foreign policy, "which annoys the countries of the West, especially the USA and France."
