Former RA Deputy Minister of Defense Artak Zakaryan writes:
“There are three levels of LIES for Nicole's government
1. Operational lies - these are the current "crats" on various topics. The purpose of these lies is to deceive people who easily believe and do not think long about the issues raised.
For example: "we will remove the red lines", "asphalt is good for that, there are many accidents", "cashless payments mean an increase in pensions", "coronavirus is a lie and it is treated with tweezers", "Shushi is an unhappy and sad city", " we didn't stop the war so that they wouldn't be called a traitor", "Artsakh was handed over by the former", "there were no weapons in the army", "there was violence in Artsakh due to the change of president deportation' and hundreds of similar lies.
2. The next level of lies is the tactical level. The purpose of tactical lies is to put society in a long-term state of expectation and to extract their emotional, moral and public support for the sake of maintaining power. Tactical lies include, for example, "there is a future", "we strive for sustainable peace ", "border liberalization strengthens the security of RA borders", "Communications will be opened and we will trade with Azerbaijanis", "We will change the constitution, but not at the request of Azerbaijan", "Armenia does not have a cadastre map", "the former negotiated the handing over of Artsakh for 30 years", "we will bring back the loot" and dozens of other similar lies.
3. There is also a high level of lies, which is called strategic lies. If operational and tactical lies are for internal audiences and solve the issue of keeping the people constantly deceived, then strategic lies have caused significant damage to Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia.
Among the strategic lies of Nikol's government are: "Strategic relations with the Russian Federation have never been so brilliant", "The West will not allow ethnic cleansing of Artsakh", "EU observers ensure the security of RA borders", "We appealed to the CSTO, they did not help", " Armenia is ready to start the membership process with the EU", "Armenia is ready to become a crossroads of peace" and so on.
Strategic lies were supplemented yesterday by signing the Armenian-American strategic cooperation document. The document itself is a normal phenomenon from the point of view of Armenian-American relations, but the problem is that Nikol's government is exaggerating it, making it another strategic lie.
The published text of the document does not provide for unconditional American support against RA. It does not provide for US support for RA interests and initiatives in international conflicts.
In the sense of economic, humanitarian, human rights and democracy development, what was on the agenda of Armenian-American relations during Serzh Sargsyan's time has been basically re-recorded.
In terms of nuclear cooperation with the US, the wording raises more questions than answers.
The topics of regional cooperation are even more problematic for the future of RA, in the sense of the expected new RF-Iran document, the existing problems surrounding Iran, as well as the active role of Azerbaijan and NATO member Turkey in the region.
It is not clear from the document what the Armenian interest will be there.
As for the issue of territorial integrity and sovereignty, neither the USA, nor the Russian Federation, nor the EU, nor Iran have ever disputed that issue and it has been recognized since 1992.
All the countries declare their support for the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process, but at least a very important part of the declaring countries have strong contradictions with each other and different interests. Therefore, has Nikol's government not invented another strategic lie based on geopolitical contradictions for the sake of their cheap PR? and has not planned a new trap for Armenia's tomorrow."
