"Fact" daily writes:
In public discourse, the question of who the heroes are is often a part of discussions.
Recently, Nikol Pashinyan frequently manipulates this topic, and perhaps there is a need to deeply understand what heroism is, who is a hero, and why Pashinyan resorts to such manipulations.
In the course of Armenian history, there were many personalities who were made heroes by the people.
And their activity is written in golden letters in history. Well, what makes those people special that they can be declared heroes?
Heroism is first of all perceived by exploits, when a person, faced with danger, fights against it with ingenuity, bravery and courage.
In other words, heroism is the exceptional act of a person or group performed for the common good, often involving great danger or personal sacrifice.
A heroic deed is anchored in courage, morality, and dedication that often surpasses ordinary human capabilities.
Heroes are people who serve as an example and ideal for others with their actions, thinking and values. It is a characteristic for them to risk their own lives for the welfare of the people and the interests of the state.
As a rule, heroes are immortalized by their deeds and serve as a source of inspiration for generations.
It is no coincidence that ideological justifications are very often connected with the actions of heroes. They can be both historical and modern persons who improve the lives of people around them by their actions. All this as a classical formulation.
And now let's come to today's situation and heroes. First of all, for the defense of the motherland, many Armenians took courage, risked their lives, died or fought selflessly to the end.
It is with this reality that the mentality that the heroes are in Erablur is connected. And that's right, they are really heroes. Heroism is also appreciated by state titles.
From this point of view, the highest title of "National Hero of Armenia" is an important criterion, which is awarded for exceptional services of nationwide importance to the Republic of Armenia in the field of defense and strengthening of the legal system and in the creation of significant national values.
An important point should be emphasized here. it is not at all necessary that heroism necessarily refers only to the military or security sphere.
For example, we have national heroes of Armenia, who are Diaspora Armenians, but with their activities, they have rendered invaluable services to our state in various fields. It is here that the same Nikol Pashinyan turns to manipulation.
But he is talking about dying. In fact, he is talking about military-non-military heroism.
It is not necessarily that the highest rank of Armenia will be given posthumously, or that only those who died are considered heroes. Many received that title during their lifetime.
And it is a fact that the title of national hero of Armenia, heroism in general, is perceived by the public as a great height, for which an exceptional work must be done for the state, and not everyone can reach such a height.
Unfortunately, the situation regarding perceptions changed after Pashinyan came to power, when he started handing out medals left and right and devaluing the given state awards. Even in the context of the shameful defeat in the second Artsakh war, in order to "demonstrate courage" he started awarding the national hero of Armenia and other titles. In "parentheses", we should note that later criminal prosecution was initiated against some of them for the same actions.
Dictatorship Azerbaijan has not lavished as many titles of heroes as Armenia, even after winning.
By the way, not only those who have been awarded the title of hero, but also in other cases also the person who was awarded for special services during the rule of Nikol Pashinyan can be declared as a robber after a short time, go through criminal cases, and then there may be calls that they should be deprived of these titles and etc.
In other words, without delving into the facts and realities, it is decided to award any title, medal, order, and after a while these people turn into... "anti-heroes". But it is not only the titles given by the state that are devalued. In general, real heroism and the concept of heroism are distorted and discredited.
For example, Pashinyan proclaims tax payers as heroes, but paying taxes is not heroism, but a direct obligation to the state.
Moreover, Pashinyan writes on his social network page that "one should have other formulas to become a hero in everyday life, for example, paying a lot of taxes, creating a lot of jobs, benevolence, helping others really selflessly, keeping the environment free of garbage, making one's home pleasant for the eyes of the environment and etc."
In fact, what is listed is not heroism, but the civil and moral duty of all of us to each other and to the state, that is, "it is not good, but normal".
In short, the RA authorities are creating such conditions that the value system of heroism changes, the pursuit of comfort, adaptation, defeatism and compromise become examples of heroism.
That's why Pashinyan constantly stressed that by signing the tripartite declaration of November 9, he "performed a heroism", saved the lives of thousands of soldiers, and then by ceding territories, he defended Armenia's sovereignty. Actually, we are in such a situation that not only the "normal", but also the anti-hero becomes heroism.
