The Danish Foreign Ministry has allowed Greenland to leave the country

Greenland, which is currently part of Denmark, may become an independent state in the future. Such a statement was made by Danish Foreign Minister Lekke Rasmussen, writes Reuters.

The diplomat commented on the statement of the elected President of the USA, Donald Trump, that Greenland should become part of the USA.

"We are fully aware that Greenland has its own ambitions. If they come true, Greenland will become independent," said the head of the foreign policy department.

At the same time, he doubted that Greenland would ever want to become part of the United States.
