The Free Syrian Army (FSA), with the support of Turkey, has deployed heavy weapons on the line of contact with the Kurdish armed forces in Syria, preparing for a possible military operation. The Türkiye newspaper reports this, noting that the Turkish army is also considering the option of resolving the conflict with the Kurds by force.
The FSA has strengthened its positions in a number of regions in the provinces of Aleppo, Hasaka and Raqqa. The command of the Free Syrian Army stated that it has strengthened its units in these regions, which are now in full combat readiness. Armored vehicles and additional personnel were deployed to the contact line.
At this stage, Turkey is not preparing for a direct military operation against the Kurdish forces in Syria, but it does not remove that option from the agenda.
T rkiye writes that the leadership of the Turkish Ministry of Defense and the General Staff previously conducted inspections in the units of the armed forces and special forces serving in the regions bordering Syria.
Those troops will be involved in the event of a decision to carry out a military operation.
