In Chad, 19 people were killed as a result of an attack on the presidential palace in the country's capital, N'Djamena. 18 of the victims are the attackers, reports AFP.
"Out of the 24 attackers, 18 were killed, 6 were wounded, and 1 soldier was killed and 3 wounded on our side, 1 of them is in a serious condition," Foreign Minister Abderaman Kulamalla told Al Arabiya, referring to to the authorities, reports that the situation is under control after the "destabilization" attempt in the country. Earlier, the agency reported that shots were heard near the presidential residence, and Tanks were seen in the streets of N'Djamena.
Reuters also reported similar information. Al Arabiya, citing sources, reports that Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby was in the palace during the attack, and that militants of the Islamist "Boko Haram" group took part in the attack.
