The Prime Minister of Iraq, Muhammad al-Sudani, proposed to hold a conference in the format of a dialogue in Baghdad, in which the representatives of all the countries of the Middle East will participate. He made a corresponding statement during his visit to Iran.
"We call for holding a regional conference in Baghdad in the format of a comprehensive dialogue, which will guarantee peace and security in the Middle East, as well as contribute to the strengthening of trust-based relations between the countries of our region," his words were quoted by the INA agency.
Al-Sudani emphasized that, in his opinion, the countries of the Middle East should "move from mutual threats to the discussion of current issues" in order to resolve the differences between them.
The Prime Minister of Iraq has not yet disclosed information about the expected date of the conference and the composition of the participants.
