The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Władysław Kosyniak-Kamisz, announced that on January 13, he will hold a meeting of the defense ministers of Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy and Ukraine.
"I invited the Defense Ministers of Germany, France, Great Britain and Italy next week (to negotiations in Poland on January 13)," Kosiniak-Kamish said during a press conference in the Sejm (Lower House of the Republic of Armenia), which was broadcast by the TVP Info channel. He also informed that the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov will join the meeting via video conference.
Defense officials will discuss the changes that could come with the arrival of a new US administration.
Prior to this, in November 2024, a similar meeting was organized by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
In it, the diplomats of the European countries discussed the possibilities of increasing aid to Kiev in the event of a change in the US position under Donald Trump, whose inauguration will take place on January 20.
