The chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) passed from Armenia to Belarus on January 1. Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at the end of 2024 that the Belarusian side will take full responsibility for this mission and will do everything possible for the further development of the association, which will mark the tenth anniversary of the start of work in 2025.
The country will actively deal with digitization and high-tech issues, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko noted.
At the same time, in his opinion, "the adoption of national decisions, the local digitization of processes and services, isolated from the existing integration projects, threatens the principles established by the EAEU treaty."
That is why, according to the Prime Minister of Belarus, this index should fully serve the functioning of the single internal market. "In order to prevent the emergence of obstacles in mutual trade, it is necessary that digital technologies and solutions be implemented in all EAEU countries on the basis of common principles and approaches," said the head of the government of Belarus.
According to the Belarusian side, special attention should also be paid to the acceleration of digitization processes in the field of application of veterinary and sanitary measures. In addition, Golovchenko called for immediate provision of "interconnection of the national sections of the electronic passport information system of vehicles, self-propelled vehicles and other types of equipment".
