In the suburb of Lusail, the capital of Qatar, dozens of people were injured as a result of the stampede that took place at the entrance of the metro station after the end of the New Year's fireworks and festive concert.
This is reported by Lenta ru. Qatari authorities initially extended subway service on New Year's Eve until 2:00 a.m. local time, while the holiday concert at the only place for mass celebrations ended at 1:00 a.m.
After the event ended, thousands of people rushed to the nearest subway station, which led to the formation of a huge crowd in the square and inside the station, where people began to "crush" each other.
