The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fizo, has stated that he welcomes the positive response of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, to his proposal for negotiations on the Ukraine issue in Slovakia, he writes.RIA Novosti.
Yesterday, Putin told journalists that during their meeting, Fizo spoke about the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. The Russian president added that Russia is not against Slovakia becoming a negotiating platform on the issue of Ukraine.
"I spoke on this topic (about the readiness of Slovakia to accept negotiations on the Ukraine issue - ed.) with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, so I welcome his positive response. I conduct and will conduct the sovereign foreign policy of Slovakia," Fizo said in a video message published on social networks.
At the same time, the head of the Slovak government noted that he will fulfill the obligations that the republic has within the framework of its membership in the European Union and NATO.
