As of the end of 2024, there are almost 60,000 citizens in the unified register of missing persons under special circumstances. This was announced by the head of the Department of Missing Persons under Special Circumstances of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Bogatyuk, "Ukrainform" reports.
According to Bogatyuk, more than 70,000 missing persons have been registered in the register since its launch. Some of these people were brought back alive, while others were unfortunately found among the dead.
However, almost 60,000 people are still missing. In October, it was reported that there were more than 59,000 entries in the registry of missing persons under special circumstances. Of those registered, more than 49,000 people are wanted as missing under special circumstances.
1769 of them are children under 18 years old.
