Paraguayan authorities have seized 57 tons of marijuana worth $22 million, the drug dealers were sending to Brazil, Paraguayan President Santiago Peña said on the X social network.
Peña said that the law enforcement bodies found the drugs as a result of the operation called "Carpenter". "This operation resulted in the seizure of 57 tons of compressed marijuana ready to be shipped to the Brazilian market, causing more than $22 million in economic damage to this criminal organization," he wrote.
Peña also assured that the country will continue the fight against drug smuggling groups.
