Most of the members of the UN Security Council condemned the Russian attack on the hospital

On July 9, the majority of the participants of the emergency session of the UN Security Council strongly condemned the Russian missile attack on Kyiv, which hit the Okhmatdet Children's Hospital. The acting Secretary General of the United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs, representatives of the United States, Great Britain and France in the organization considered the rocket attack on the hospital a war crime for which Moscow should be held accountable. They also considered unacceptable the fact that the attack was carried out by Russia, a permanent member of the Security Council, the current president of the Security Council. The deputy permanent representative of China at the UN did not directly condemn Moscow. "Unfortunately, the fighting has not subsided recently, but has occasionally escalated and become more violent with heavy casualties. China is deeply worried about this," Gen Shuan said. Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzya, stated that "Russia does not attack civilian objects in Ukraine." According to him, the target of the attack was the factory named after Artyom in Kyiv, and the "Okhmatdet" hospital was allegedly hit by a Ukrainian air defense missile, which changed its trajectory after the attack. Nebenzya insisted that he can provide evidence for the hypothesis. During his speech, the permanent representative of Ukraine at the UN, Sergey Kislitsa, showed the participants of the meeting photos that depict the rocket flying towards the hospital and its trajectory. The hospital is believed to have been hit by a Russian X-101 missile.
