Kazakh President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev, Azattyq Rýhy reports, citing "chord". The head of state congratulated Aliyev in connection with the conclusion of the historical declaration on the peaceful settlement of Azerbaijan and Armenia signed in Washington.

"The head of our state has confirmed the readiness of Astana to continue the provision of its platform for negotiations. Kasim-Jomart Tokayev noted the growth of Azerbaijan's prestige in the international arena, headed by President Ilham Aliyev, "the statement said.

The parties agreed to continue contacts at the highest level. In response, Aliyev thanked for the congratulations, emphasizing the historical significance of the agreement, which, according to him, is the result of many years of diplomatic efforts.

It is also reported that a telephone conversation between Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev and RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will take place on August 11.
