2025 will mark the tenth anniversary of Armenia's membership in the EAEU. For the 10 months of 2024, the trade turnover with the EAEU countries crossed the threshold of 11 billion dollars. Elinar Vardanyan, member of the "Alternative Projects Group", wrote about this in his article.
In particular, he noted:
"For a long time, this topic has been drummed up by the officials of the economic bloc of the current government, and the CP deputies are not far behind. It remains to recall the origins of EAEU membership. Armenia became a member of EAEU during the tenure of Serzh Sargsyan.
N. Pashinyan was a fanatical opponent of it. 2017 The "Exit" faction of the National Assembly presented a project on leaving the EAEU. Pashinyan, who was the head of the faction at that time, declared that in the context of Armenia's accession to the EAEU and the processes taking place around it, the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia received very serious blows, and there is every reason to believe that this process will continue and "x" is going to get out of control for us from now on, if it hasn't already.
Yerevan is drowning in traffic jams. The situation is now going to an uncontrollable paralysis. This government has not done anything for 6 years. And the fact that the city is still somehow enduring is thanks to the work done before 2018. It is thanks to several large road junctions and projects that Yerevan is not standing still.
In 2007-2008, during the reign of Robert Kocharyan, the Saralanj highway bypassing the center of Yerevan and connecting different parts of the capital was built. In 2007, the corridor connecting the Baghramyan-Kasyan-Komitas flyover and the Kyivan-Kochar transition route and the Baghramyan-Orbel tunnel were built.
In 2008, the multi-level junction-route starting from Khorenatsi Street and ending at Khanjyan Street, in front of the Pedagogical University, was put into operation. Until then, in 2000, the Davitashen bridge was put into operation, and the Ashtarak bridge adjacent to Yerevan was overhauled.
S. During Sargsyan's reign, Monte Melkonyan street was built, which connected Kievyan street to Isakov avenue with a junction. For six years, no systemic solution was given to the problem during the reign of this government.
The only "solution" they could offer was 2024. since January, the fee for using the red lines separated in Yerevan was to be increased. The annual fee was increased 13 times, reaching 160,000 drams, in order to unload the center, allegedly choked by traffic jams. The center was not unloaded, instead, the drivers found themselves under the load.
The authorities are proud of the increase in tourism. Leaving aside the real reasons for the growth of tourism, we all understand it very well. Along with the growth of tourism, the construction of a new airport terminal has become imperative. The project has been there for a long time, the terminal is not there and is not there. And tourists come and go through the terminal built during the "former" era.
The first stage of modernization works of "Zvartnots" airport started in 2002. Until 2004, the runway and runways were repaired, and during the second stage (2004-2007) a new passenger complex was built, through which tourists coming to Armenia arrive and depart today.
Today's authorities have developed a new "systematic" plan to attract tourists: spend millions of dollars on Christmas trees and obscure Christmas decorations and hope that this will bring in new tourists. But the project of airport development and construction of new terminals failed.
The Central Bank presents the volume of pension funds, which has already reached one trillion, as a serious achievement.
This is a very serious number and continues to grow at a very high rate. Accumulated funds already have such a great systemic importance that more opportunities should be given for them to participate in investing in the economy of the Republic of Armenia. The cumulative pension system was introduced in 2014. during the reign of Serzh Sargsyan.
Pashinyan enters live from Tumo, which was built with the efforts of Kocharyan, and takes foreign guests for a walk on Northern Avenue.
The housing construction program, the reform of the banking system, the "North-South" program, the most serious American programs were developed and implemented by the former.
And what did these authorities do?
If for a moment we try to get rid of the universal disaster brought by them, the loss of Artsakh, nationwide misfortunes and look only at the economic and social programs, then what do they represent? Property tax increase
transfer of micro-entrepreneurship to the general system of taxation, taxation of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs working with turnover tax under the general system of taxation, elimination of the institution of bank secrecy
introduction of universal declaration institution (these last two are among the best ways to confuse potential investors)
the increase in the price of parking and transport, the ugly culture of large and unjustified purchases from one person, the list can be continued endlessly.
This is the Armenia of crooked mirrors.
