Iraq has said that Syria should not become a haven for terrorists

Syria cannot be allowed to become a refuge or a transit point for terrorists.

This was stated by the permanent representative of Iraq at the UN, Abbas Kazem Obeid, at the session of the UN Security Council dedicated to the situation in Syria.

"Syria should not become a refuge or a transit point for terrorists, we reject the division of Syrian territories.

We call for a clear road map to ensure the effective participation of all Syrian forces in the crisis settlement process.

We also call to support the Syrians and end the political division in the country," the Iraqi news agency quotes the diplomat as saying.

The length of the state border between Iraq and Syria is 599 km.
