Belarus aspires to participate in the peace talks on the Ukraine issue, Minsk's interests should be taken into account, said the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus, Yuriy Ambrazevych.
"From the beginning, the Belarusian side took peacekeeping steps to prevent the escalation in Ukraine, therefore, we have stated from the beginning that we claim to have a place at the table of peace negotiations on the issue of Ukraine when they begin.
It is important for us to get guarantees of our own security. The final agreements must necessarily take into account the interests of the Belarusian side," he said at the ninth session of the Advisory Council on the Affairs of Belarusians Abroad attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic.
