Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan writes in his Telegram channel:
"Damascus fell as a result of the inglorious and weak behavior of the Syrian state and army.
The terrorist organization "Tahrir al-Sham" is another example of how a smaller but highly organized group with the will to fight defeats a stronger opponent.
The Middle East is no longer what it was yesterday, because the Erdogan regime will act even more self-confidently and brazenly.
This is a new and dangerous challenge for Armenia, but not at all a reason for despair, because opportunities also open up along with any challenge.
The fall of Damascus will further intensify the Russian-Turkish rivalry on the one hand, and the Turkish-Iranian rivalry on the other, to put it mildly. The Kurds will get a chance to act more freely, becoming a threat to the same Erdogan regime.
The clash of American-Turkish interests in the Kurdish issue and other areas is not excluded.
The Middle East is an area of eternal struggle, and only those nations and states continue to live here that have the will and wisdom to be ready for that struggle and ultimately win it."
