Greece is preparing to transfer Russian anti-aircraft systems to Armenia. Enikos:

Greece is going to transfer to Armenia S-300 and two more Russian-made weapons, which were used for the country's air defense.Greece will replace them with Israeli-made systems. This is reported by the Greek portal Enikos. The leadership of the armed forces of Greece is determined to remove Russian weapon systems from the Greek military arsenal and replace them radically with new Western technologies. According to the portal, "the General Staff of the National Defense of Greece is in the advanced stage of providing Armenia with Russian-made weapons systems."

The portal notes that "previously it was assumed that these systems could be transferred to Ukraine, but the General Staff of Ukraine is considering other, no less profitable alternatives." According to available information, the strengthening of Armenia's defense is not a purely Greek initiative, but the result of cooperation with France, which will also contribute to the arming of this country. For Athens, strengthening Yerevan instead of Kiev is a strategic choice for many reasons. This is done primarily for the benefit of very close alliance ties, common efforts in recent history, as well as common religious beliefs. In addition, according to the portal, a strong Armenia will be a counterweight to a hostile Turkey, which is openly strengthening Azerbaijan.
