A case of shadow circulation of around 260 million drams was revealed in the field of food trade (video)

The Department of Investigation and Operational Intelligence of the RA SRC, within the framework of the fight against economic crimes, recently revealed a case of shadow circulation of around 260 million drams. Operational data was received from the regional department No. 14 of the Investigation and Operational-Intelligence Department that the food trading company operating in the city of Artik, Shirak Marz collects cash for the sold products and does not in all cases provide the buyers with check-cash receipts.

Instead, it provides only an internal accounting document, avoiding paying particularly large taxes. The operative data obtained as a result of the complex operational-investigative measures undertaken have been confirmed.

In particular, factual data was obtained that there is a shadow circulation of AMD 260,240,000 in the trading hall belonging to the given food trading company.

The shadow circulation recorded within the scope of warning and prevention of violations of the requirements of the legal acts granting control powers to the tax authority was presented to the taxpayer.

As a result, the latter voluntarily submitted to the tax authority the corrected calculations of VAT and excise tax for October, December 2023, January to September 2024 and profit tax for 2023.

The sales turnover of the company increased by 260,240,000 AMD, and additional value added tax payable to the state budget was generated in the amount of 43,382,008 AMD and profit tax in the amount of 21,534,639 AMD.

As a result of the event, the company incurred an additional tax liability in the amount of AMD 64,916,647, which was fully recovered.

We remind you that according to the existing legal regulations, entering the money collected from the sale into the cash register is mandatory.

Regular non-fulfillment of the mentioned requirement may also indicate crimes under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, therefore the SRC urges the persons engaged in business activities to take note of the requirement of the law and not to commit illegalities.
