At the conference convened in Antilias, the situation in Lebanon and the possibilities to deal with it were discussed

H.E. The current situation in Lebanon and the possibilities of coping with its consequences were discussed with the participation of Armenian political parties and clergymen at the consultative session convened in the Capital of Antilias at the invitation of Catholicos Aram I.

According to the information, H.E. At the consultative session convened at the invitation of His Holiness Aram I, with the participation of Armenian spiritual leaders and bodies of Armenian political parties in Lebanon, as well as representatives of the Diwan of the Political Assembly of the National Central Department of Catholicism, His Holiness Aram I emphasized that the consultations between the spiritual leaders and the resulting statements are consistent and they discuss issues related to all Armenians.

In this regard, he specially emphasized the joint statement of the three spiritual leaders in connection with COP29, which includes the principle points of the demand for the restoration of the rights of the people of Artsakh, the imperative of their collective return and the release of the Armenian prisoners held in Baku.

His Holiness the Patriarch expressed his satisfaction that the Armenian political parties hold consultative meetings at monthly intervals, jointly discussing the problems of the community.

Head of the Armenian Catholic Church N.A.T. Raphael-Petros IA Spiritual Master referred to the Armenian factor in the Vatican, the works related to Armenia and Lebanon and the Christian communities in general, stressing the wide resounding of the joint statement of the three Armenian spiritual heads in the Vatican church circles and in the European and Asian territories.

He highlighted the issue of organizing and supporting the education sector against the background of the prevailing conditions in Lebanon.

The President of the World Council of Armenian Evangelical Churches, Reverend Dr. Paul Haidostyan drew a parallel between the interests shown by church circles and international conferences towards Artsakh and Lebanon, focusing on the existing approaches to the Christian population of the Middle East.

As a result of consultations and discussions, the participants of the session came up with the following emphasis: - It is necessary to continue the joint coordinated work with the same consistency and order to discuss the means to overcome the security, social and economic difficulties faced by the Armenian community in Lebanon.

- Due to the gradually increasing migration flow, to continue the support work through charitable organizations. In this regard, inter-faith consultations and their work aimed at supporting the needs of immigrants settled in the vicinity of Armenian-occupied districts are welcome.

- It is a priority to observe the educational and union structures of the Lebanese-Armenian community, noting them as the most important centers of humanity in terms of the diaspora.

- The participants of the consultation consider the establishment of a cease-fire and the early election of the president as urgent, welcoming Lebanon's independence day on November 22 and emphasizing the need for internal solidarity to maintain Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty and to fulfill these tasks.
