The president of the Georgian Football Federation, Levan Kobiashvili, highlighted the joint bid that Armenia and Georgia will apply to FIFA to host the 2029 World Youth Championship: "I am happy to be here today and announce this important news. We are fraternal states, historical neighbors. I am glad that we will apply for the hosting of the 2029 world championship with a joint application," Kobiashvili said during a meeting with journalists, according to "Armenpress". According to the latter, he is not only the president of the Georgian Football Federation, but also a member of the UEFA executive committee, and the European association expressed its support for FFA's initiatives in every possible way: "Both countries are experienced in terms of hosting international tournaments. As for what is needed to host the World Youth Championship, I can say that infrastructure is very important. Hosting the World Youth Championship will be very important for our two countries. I am sure that together we will be able to bring world football to our countries," he said. Armenia and Georgia will submit a joint application to FIFA to host the 2029 World Youth Championship. UEFA confirmed the support for the joint bid of Armenia and Georgia. The venue for the World Youth Championship will be clear in 2025.
