The president of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, has submitted his resignation, local media reports.
According to the representatives of the opposition, the authorities were offered two options: the resignation of the entire government along with the president, vice-president and prime minister, and the speaker of the parliament, Lasha Ashuba, should perform the duties of the president until the elections are called.
