"Radik was a lively child at a young age, he had an interesting character, as if he had "words in his pocket". He was sincere, pure," said Mrs. Karine, Radik's mother, in a conversation with "Pasti". He notes that his son's character also changed with age, he became calmer and more serious: "He studied very well.
Biology and chemistry were his favorite subjects. He wanted to become a doctor. After school, he entered the "Dental Technical Department" of Martuni Medical College. He wanted to become a dentist. But it wouldn't stop there. One of his biggest dreams was to become a maxillofacial surgeon." Radik graduated from college, postponed the realization of his dreams for two years. He should have served in the Armenian army. The mother says that her son always wanted to serve in Artsakh. "When I asked him why he was there, he said that the boy had to serve in Karabakh. And wanted to be a paramedic in the army.
During the service, he was offered to be an assistant commander, but he did not want it, they wanted to send him to sergeant courses, but he refused again, his only goal was to be a paramedic. After the war, he passed an exam, he was supposed to come to Armenia for training, and after completing it and returning to his place of service, he would become a paramedic. Mrs. Karine notes that her son loved to read and listen to music, and she always encouraged her brother to read a lot and do sports. On July 1, 2020, Radik was drafted for compulsory military service in Askera, Republic of Artsakh. After some time, he was transferred to "Martuni 3". "He went to the service with love, he was excited.
Never complained about anything. He was the one who reconciled everyone during disputes." On September 27, the war begins. The family had daily contact with Radik, the mother says that her son did not call for three days, then it was found out that during that time he took shelter in a tube under the ground until the army reached him and got out.
"He didn't call the day the war started. We spoke with him on the evening of September 28, he said: it's calm with us, everything is fine. And he didn't complain for a single day, he didn't show that he was in a bad condition." Askeran, Red Market, "Martuni 3", Hadrut. During the war, Radik was in hot spots. "The friend told that when they were supposed to wash in the morning on the day the war started, and then have lunch, the first shell of the enemy fell on the territory of their military unit. They waited in the hiding place until the situation calmed down, came out, got the weapons and went up to the positions in cars. Misak, Radiki's friend, says that they talked about seeing a war. Radiks also responded: we will enter the university together, we will build a house, we will work together.
They reached the border, they had to go in different directions, at that time the friend took out the broken watch and gave it to Radik so that if something happened to him, he could pass it on to his parents. Radik does not take the watch and says: nothing will happen to us, we will meet downstairs in the company, safe and sound."
Mrs. Karine notes that her son defeated the enemy in the 44-day war. "He was in various hotspots, he saved the lives of his comrades in arms. The only thing he was proud of was being able to save lives. Bandaged the wounded, provided first aid. Another day and night with four friends, after walking and running for several kilometers, they take shelter in the forest. They decide to dig a hideout until the army comes and catches up with them. The friend tells us that three of us dug our place, the fourth didn't. Radik said: we have to dig his place too, we both got angry about why. Radik responded: if he doesn't want to dig and save his life, then we will dig. He takes the shovel and starts digging. The boys join him. And when it rains at night and that boy's hiding place collapses, Radik takes him to his place. During the war, his life was saved by an amazing coincidence.
Once, when the boys were to be moved to another location, Radik decides to join them, but the commander tells him to stay. "Ural" explodes after a short journey. He always said, "Mom, God is with me, God is saving me." The war ends, a few days later, Radik's parents visit him. "He had changed a lot, matured, became serious, as if he was an old man. I remember that when he heard about "giving away the lands" during the war, he was upset.
"Do you know what guys gave their lives for that land, what guys' blood was spilled? We did so much to give that land?" January 2021 has arrived. Radik served in "Martuni 3". "We celebrated the new year with the boys in Dirk, everything was good. In general, the boys said that when they were not in the mood, they were kind of scolded: keep yourself strong, keep tight. And then January 11 came. I called all day, but my son did not answer my calls. He called around 8-9 in the evening, said that engineering works were done, there was no connection.
The voice was hoarse, as if I had a cold. I also said: talk to your commander, don't let them send you to engineering work tomorrow. Then he went to a restaurant, came back, called again, we talked and said goodbye. The next morning I called. Radiks said that he felt sick at night, the commander sent him to the aid station. The blood pressure was low, the work of the heart was checked, sedative drops were given, and he was sent to the hospital. He felt sick again, went to the doctor, and he turned on the system. Perhaps an hour passed, I couldn't stand it, I started calling, my calls remained unanswered. Finally, he answered, his voice was hoarse, "Mom, I'll call you later."
After that, my son was taken to the hospital, and from there to the Stepanakert Republican Hospital. He answered my call from there, he was suffocating, he could not speak. The nurse said that he was being transferred to Armenia. We reached Vaik when my husband was called and told that my son was not there either.
He told me that there are not enough papers, we won't be able to cross the border, we came home. And that's how it all ended, on January 12 at half past six. We could not find out what happened." Mrs. Karine cannot describe in words how painful it is that her son, after going through all the trials of the war for 44 days, died for an unknown reason. "If he had died during the war, maybe my feelings would have been different, I would have thought that he became immortal along with the other boys, but after so much struggle, like this?" About the power to live. "After Radik, my youngest son, Alex, gave me the strength to live.
At first it was very difficult, my only thought was to reach Radikis, but my youngest son sobered me up that I have to live for him." H. C. - Radik Tatosyan was posthumously awarded the "Combat Service" medal. After the war, the certificate received during his lifetime reached the Radik family after his death. He was buried in his native village Geghhovit, Martuni region.
