Donald Trump, who won the US presidential election, stated during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin that he wants a speedy end to the conflict in Ukraine.
The Washington Post (WP) writes about this, citing sources. The newspaper's interlocutors noted that one of the topics of the conversation, which took place on November 7, was the establishment of peace on the European continent.
Trump also expressed interest in holding new conversations that would center on “a speedy resolution to the war in Ukraine,” the article said. The Washington Post also indicated that the Ukrainian government was informed about the call from the US President-elect to the Russian leader. However, later the press secretary of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgy Tikhy, denied this information.
Earlier, Ukrainian media wrote that Donald Trump decided not to include former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in his team, which destroyed Kyiv’s hopes for the presence of a lobbyist for Bankova’s interests in the American government.
