Spiegel: The Ukrainian military will share combat experience with the soldiers of the Bundeswehr

The two countries signed a corresponding agreement on February 13, during the meeting of foreign ministers within the framework of the Munich Security Conference. According to the spokesman of the German army, it is planned that "the experience of the Ukrainian servicemen in the training centers will be used in the training of the ground troops". The publication, citing sources, explains that Ukrainian servicemen will share "practical, unmanned aerial vehicle and defense experience."

"No one in NATO currently has as much combat experience as Ukraine, and we need to use that," the magazine quoted a Bundeswehr (German armed forces) official as saying. The exact details of the project are unknown. It is noted that training is planned to start "as soon as possible". However, due to problems related to military mobilization in Ukraine, the Ukrainian servicemen will be in Germany only for a few weeks.

The German military is also interested in learning about the Ukrainian armed forces' experience with German weapons, such as the Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzer. Furthermore, the Bundeswehr wants to study the experience of the Ukrainian military in the field of command and control on the battlefield using smartphone applications.

As noted in the publication, similar systems of the Bundeswehr were developed in peacetime and are extremely complex, while the Ukrainian programs have proven their effectiveness and are constantly being improved.
