The US Department of the Treasury has granted a general license to Venezuela to provide products, technology and services related to oil and gas production.
"Except as provided in clause (b) of this general license, all transactions prohibited by the sanctions regulations applicable to Venezuela, which are customarily incidental to and necessary for the supply of goods, technology, software, or services to the United States or a person for the exploration, development, or production of oil or gas in Venezuela, are permitted," according to the license issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
