Iraq received more than 2,200 supporters of the "Islamic State" group from Syrian prisons

At the moment, Iraq has already placed in its territory more than 2,200 former supporters and militants of the terrorist group "Islamic State", who were transferred from special camps and prisons in Syria. This was announced by the head of the press center of the Iraqi security services, Lieutenant General Saad Maan.

"Iraq has already received 2,250 IS terrorists who were transferred from Syria," said the Iraqi general, whose words were quoted by INA agency. He emphasized that the transfer of IS supporters was carried out both by air and by land, in coordination with the international coalition.

Maan noted that the Iraqi government and the country's security forces are "ready to resolve deployment and procedural issues related to such a large number of ex-militants in order to prevent the spread of the IS threat not only in Iraq, but throughout the world."
