In the Akhuryan investigative department of the Shirak Marz Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings initiated on July 26, 2024 in the administrative area of the Jajur settlement of the Akhuryan community of the Shirak marz, in connection with the car accident that killed three people, was completed with the indictment of 2 persons. Earlier we informed that on the specified day, around 01:30, 15 km of the Gyumri-Vanadzor highway. in the administrative area of Jajur settlement of Akhuryan community of Shirak region, "BMW X3 3.01" and "HONDA FTT 1.3" cars collided with each other, as a result of which the driver of the "HONDA FTT 1.3" car and the latter's wife died on the spot, and their 7-year-old son the son, with bodily injuries, was taken to the medical center, where he also died without regaining consciousness.
As a result of the evidentiary actions carried out within the proceedings, data were obtained that the driver of the "BMW X3 3.01" brand, while driving the car on the specified road section, committed a violation of the traffic rules, as well as actions contrary to the requirements of the RA Law "On Ensuring Road Traffic Safety". : In particular, not observing the traffic rules, in the presence of a solid line, he did not make the right-hand traffic of the vehicle he was driving and, crossing the solid line, left the lane of the oncoming traffic.
As a result, it collided with the "HONDA FTT 1.3" car driving in front, causing the death of three people.
As a result of the investigative and operational activities carried out during the preliminary investigation, data were also obtained that on the same day, at 02:05, the driver of the "BMW X3 3.01" car called his acquaintance, a 26-year-old resident of Gyumri, for help. , after which the latter went to the scene in his "Mercedes Benz" car. Having personally confirmed that a traffic accident had occurred, with the intention of preventing his acquaintance from being criminally liable or punished, the 26-year-old young man took the car he was driving from the scene of the accident to his barbershop in Ani district of Gyumri city.
Then, at the request of an acquaintance, the young man went to his house, took his passport, and then took him in the same car and passed him through the Bavra border checkpoint. As a result, the person who committed the alleged crime fled, hiding from the authorities conducting the criminal proceedings. On September 20, 2024, he voluntarily presented himself to the authorities conducting the proceedings.
Based on the obtained sufficient facts, the driver of the "BMW X3 3.01" car was charged under part 3 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and he was detained as a preventive measure. The 26-year-old acquaintance of the latter, under Article 474, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation was completed, the materials of the criminal proceedings, with the indictment, were sent to the supervising prosecutor to resolve the issue of sending him to court.
