Kremlin welcomes US-Iran talks in Oman

The Kremlin hopes that the negotiations between Tehran and Washington on Iran's nuclear file will be effective and will lead to easing of tensions. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, announced this to journalists.

"We welcome the negotiations that have now started in Oman, and we want them to be effective and provide an opportunity to achieve de-escalation of tensions in the region," he said.

"Until that happens, of course, we would like to see restraint from all interested states," the Kremlin representative added.

On February 6, the USA and Iran hold talks in Oman on Tehran's nuclear program. The Iranian delegation is headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, and the American one by the special envoy of the US President, Stephen Wittkoff.
