The Czech Republic plans to move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in cooperation with other states. As "Armenpress" learns from TASS, this was announced by the Prime Minister of the Republic, Petr Fiala. "We should take the step of moving our embassy in cooperation with some other states," the Prime Minister told the ČTK news agency.
He noted that it will take time to implement those plans. The initiator of the idea of moving the Czech embassy to Jerusalem is Miloš Zeman, the former president of the republic.
He has insisted for many years that this is a necessary step. Thanks to Zeman's efforts, the House of the Czech Republic was opened and successfully operates in Jerusalem, serving as a cultural center of the republic and a mediator in establishing direct connections between business people of the two countries. The US, Honduras, Guatemala, Papua New Guinea and Kosovo have already moved their embassies to Jerusalem.
