The U.S. naval group under the U.S. Central Command's (CENTCOM) area of responsibility in the Middle East has expanded to 11 warships.
As the New York Post newspaper reports, it was reported earlier that the naval group consists of 10 ships.
Currently in the Arabian Sea near Oman, the US aircraft carrier strike group consists of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and the three destroyers USS Spruance, USS Michael Murphy and USS Frank Petersen.
The ships are located approximately 750 kilometers from the southeastern coast of Iran.
