The taxation system from the provision of advertising services on social platforms was discussed

On the joint initiative of the State Revenue Committee and a group of NA deputies, a meeting was held in the committee with the participation of influencers to discuss the taxation system derived from the provision of advertising services on social platforms.

SRC President Rustam Badasyan welcomed the participants of the meeting and highlighted the involvement and role of bloggers in increasing voluntary tax discipline.

Rustam Badasyan emphasized that there is no alternative to voluntary discipline and equal conditions will apply to all participants in the sector. At the meeting, reference was made to the existing mechanisms of taxation and the legislative changes planned from 2025.
The issues of documentation in the case of services provided to businesses were discussed. The need to introduce the Institute of Self-Employed Persons was also emphasized for the participants of the sector, which will make it possible to organize the tax payment process with a more convenient and simplified mechanism.

Along with the steady growth of the advertising market in the Armenian domain of the Internet, SRC has developed measures aimed at the voluntary discipline of influencers. In 2024 During the months of June-September, 57 notices regarding the possible risks of under-declaration of sales turnover were sent electronically to the pages of 44 influencers' personal offices, indicating each undocumented transaction in the notice.

As a result of the analytical work carried out in 2024 Compared to June, the sales turnover of the mentioned taxpayers increased by 119%, 41% and 101% in July, August and September, respectively. As well as in 2023 compared to the months of January to September, in 2024 from January to September, in general, sales turnover increased by 28% or 153.5 million drams.

The meeting was held in an active question-and-answer format. An agreement was reached to make the discussions continuous.
