It is planned to open the 4th border checkpoint between the city of Salmast, the Western Atrpatakan province of Iran in the Turkish province of Iran. The new checkpoint will operate in Kuzaresh Gelinjik area, based on Raz and the server, becoming another border checkpoint between the two countries.
Turkish Parliament MP Kayhan Turkmenoglu said technical research was held on the spot with the participation of specialists of the two countries. According to him, the initiative will not only stimulate the trade, but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the border regions.
Iranian Ambassador to Turkey Mohammad Hasan Habibolahzade said that discussions between the parties had already taken place on the deployment of a new checkpoint and customs infrastructure.
The parties expressed readiness to accelerate the process in the near future.
