Dozens of French farmers arrived in Versailles' Palace with tractors to protest unfair competition, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
Fifty farmers wearing green jackets with the logo of Agricultural Union gathered for a protest action. They lit a bonfires, unloaded grass of grass and lit chandeliers near the horseshoe statue of Louis XIV.
"We are here to accord to the agreement with Merkosur, as well as to the import of Ukrainian goods. Today, in France, we suffer from this import, as these products have different technical requirements, "Maxim Lyreen, the head of the Young Farmers of Paris, told RIA Novosti.
According to him, the authorities are defining certain agricultural standards on the villagers, while allowing countries with less strict criteria. As a result, French villagers become less competitive.
