The President of Georgia offered Trump to start relations with the United States from scratch

Georgian President Mikheil Kaqvevili has stated that during the meeting with his American counterpart Donald Trump, the United States partner Donald Trump has begun to start the relations between the two countries.

"I told the US President that it was time to start our relations from scratch, which he replied that he would follow this issue and promised to return to this topic and contact me. We will wait for the answer, "Kavarkvili told reporters, summing up his visit to New York.

The head of state of Georgia added that he also met with US Minister of Foreign Affairs Howard Lutnik in New York.

Earlier, Kavelousvili and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobachidze sent open letters to Trump, offering to restart relations.

Georgia's relations with the United States have deteriorated significantly in 2024, after the country adopted a law on foreign agents.
