The US State Department has approved a possible sale of Amraam (Advanced Medium-Range Air-Air Missile) and the equipment related to Germany for a total of $ 1.23 billion. This was reported by the Pentagon Security Cooperation Agency, which is responsible for the supply of military equipment and weapons abroad under intergovernmental agreements.
According to the statement, the German authorities have previously asked US Government and contractors to the above 400 missiles, 12 referral systems, as well as other related equipment, software and missile service.
"The total value of the transaction is estimated at 1.23 billion dollars," the document said.
The statement said that the sale of this weapon will "contribute to the implementation of US foreign policy and national security goals, strengthening the defense of NATO ally."
