Australia and Canada have officially recognized the Palestinian statehood, RIA Novosti reported.
"Today, Canada recognizes the Palestine state," said Canadian Prime Minister Mark Stone on the social network x.
Australia officially recognizes the Palestinian "independent and sovereign" state, the statement of the Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong.
"Starting from today, Sunday, September 21, 2025, the Australian Union officially recognizes the independent and sovereign state of Palestine," the statement posted on the PM's X social network page said.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Stone announced earlier that Canada intends to recognize Palestine at 80th session of UN General Assembly in September 2025
