Belarus hopes that the Polish authorities will open the border with the republic within a week, said Vladimir Orlovsky, President of the Belarusian State Customs Committee.
"We hope that the situation on the border will be resolved within a week, and Polish businesses will not suffer from the actions of the Polish authorities," Belta is quoted as saying.
Orlovsky spoke about the situation in which Polish trucks appeared in Belarus due to the closure of the border. "Under usual conditions, when the border is open, trucks, including the Polish, enter the Republic of Belarus.
"It simply came to our notice then. Polish trucks are moving to Poland. As the Polish side closed the border, then Polish trucks cannot return to Poland, "he explained.
