"I sent a letter to the Ministry of Defense in which I expressed concern about the problems created for servicemen after the amendment of the law on mortgage lending and income tax refund. As is known, it will no longer work for the city of Yerevan from January 1, 2025, from 2027 in the marzes adjacent to Yerevan, and from 2029 in other marzes. The border settlements will be an exception. Taking into account the fact that currently there is a strong need to equip the armed forces with qualified personnel, and establishing an exception for servicemen in this law is very important in this regard, I suggested to the Ministry of Defense to discuss the need to establish exceptions in the law on income tax refunds and that bringing it to the government's priority agenda. This will enable a large number of our servicemen, who have not yet solved their housing problem, to get it by taking advantage of the wide opportunities of the program.
The response letter of the Ministry of Defense is very surprising, because in the very first sentence it is stated that "the competent agency for income tax refund is the RA State Revenue Committee." In other words, the issue of recruiting servicemen or establishing privileges for them is the problem of the SRC, and the first beneficiary of the topic. according to the Ministry of Defense, it is the SRC. It is pointless to write for a long time about how important the problem of replenishment of the army is today, in the conditions of Azerbaijani threats and the unfinished war, and this position of the Ministry of Defense in this situation actually speaks of the deeper problems within the government: from attitude to servicemen to ideological.
Soldiers are people who have undertaken the most important mission in our country, and the attitude of the government and society towards them should be directly proportional to the services they provide.
