Ali Akbar Velayati strongly condemned the reports of the Israeli Rabbis summit in Azerbaijan, calling the move to unprecedented and "anti-Islamic". Mehr reported.
In a statement published on social media, Velayat was surprised and regret, expressing hope that the message does not correspond to reality.
"This is the first time that the Azerbaijani government is to make such a violation that undermines Islam and World Shi's World Authorization," he said.
Emphasizing Azerbaijan's "Islamic Heritage", Velayati noted that the Azerbaijani people, who have been a Muslim for almost 1200 years, will definitely reject such an act.
He warned that the summit could be aimed at extending the so-called Abraham agreements and it is possible that Azerbaijan will also be involved in the agreement to Azerbaijan.
Velayati also questioned Baku's cooperation with Israel, citing the hostile actions of Israel against Muslim countries.
