Chipmaker TSMC denies the US has launched an investigation against it

Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC denies reports that US authorities have launched an investigation against the company whose processors were found in products from Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei.
“TSMC is a law-abiding company, we are committed to complying with all rules and regulations, including export controls,” CNBC quotes the Taiwanese company. The Information portal previously wrote that the US Department of Commerce has launched an investigation into TSMC. Possible supplies of microprocessors to a Chinese manufacturer would be a violation of export rules that the US authorities have introduced against China. According to TSMC, the company has not supplied chips to Huawei since mid-September 2020. China in December 2022 filed a lawsuit with the WTO due to the introduction of US export controls for chips and other products in relation to China.
