Sanctions do not take effect immediately, and the draft resolution on the continuation of sanctions should be put to a vote in the UN Security Council. If such a resolution is not confirmed within 30 days, the sanctions will be restored.
European countries have taken this step one and a half months before the expiration date in mid-October 2025.
