The European Volleyball Championships are over in Yerevan


With the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the European Volleyball Boys' Championship was held in Yerevan from July 23 to August 3, with about 500 athletes in 16 countries.

The title of the winner of the European Championships in the European Championship was awarded the Italian team, which gained an advantage over its peers in Spain in spectacular struggle. The latter took the second place. The third place was taken by the French team, the 16-year-old team from the Polish team.

Deputy Minister Hasmik Avagyan took part in the winners' award ceremony on August 3. Alisa Chenulichuti, a member of the Presidency of the European Volleyball Federation, and HVF Secretary General Karen Asmaryan, also took part in the award ceremony.

According to the Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia Karen Asmaryan, the championship is unequivocally received. "We had a very interesting championship with the participation of a large number of spectators. According to experts, the championship held in Yerevan was one of the most beautiful in the history of the European Championships, both organizational and infrastructure. Everything was done to best hold the championship. He also provided a high quality live broadcast. The reaction of all this was the positive assessment of the European Federation. This is very happy for us, because without being a large volleyball power, we were able to organize the championship at the highest level with the participation of a large number of delegations. "

The Armenian-16 team, which was formed 6 months ago, held 7 matches within the European Yerjan Championship, competing with the teams of Greece, Romania, Latvia, Poland. According to Karen Asmaryan, playing in the final of the Large International Tournament was a great experience for Armenian athletes.

Arman Davtyan, Gor Grigoryan, Rafael Khnkoyan, Armen Manukyan, Alex Ashamaryan, Hamlet Vardanyan, Tigran Hakobyan, Hayk Gabrielyan, Arman Vardanyan, Robert Hovhannisyan, Hovhannes Avagyan and Alex Hunanyan were included in the Armenian team.

The matches of the championship were held at Gazprom Armenia's study and gym in the Russian-Armenian University. About 80 volunteers were involved in the championship.

The European U-16 Volleyball Championships took part in the volleyball players of France, Poland, Italy, Turkey, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Greece, Serbia, Slovenia and Romania.
