The United Kingdom intends to recognize Palestinian statehood until the next elections, which are expected in 2029, said the British Business and Trade Minister Jonathan Reynolds.

He stressed that in case of purely symbolic recognition, London will have to ask what other means can be taken to influence Israel. Thus, the United Kingdom has already suspended arms exports to Israel, suspended trade talks with Tel Aviv and imposed sanctions on a number of ministers.
