Nikusor Dan won the Romanian presidential election

Independent pro-European candidate, Mayor of the capital Nikusor Dan received 54.17% of the vote in the second round of the Romanian presidential elections, and his opponent, the leader of the National Alliance of Romanian Union George Simion, was 45.83%.

These results were published on the website of the Permanent Electoral Department after 98.56% of the ballots.

Romanian media outlets Dan announced the winner of the elections, 850,000 votes remain in the number of counting, and the difference between the candidates is 898,000 votes.
