French President Emanuel Mcron congratulated the "Christian-Democratic Union" leader Friedrich Merz on his victory in the German parliamentary elections.
"I spoke to Friedrich Mertie, to congratulate him on the victory in the German elections," the French leader wrote.
He noted that the election results also discussed with German Chancellor Olaf Scholts. Makron stressed that "France and Germany continue to adhere to a strong and sovereign Europe together."
According to him, in the current conditions, EU countries must "unite efforts to solve the main challenges facing Europe."
